Nestled in the foothills of the Pocono Mountains, Luzerne County is the perfect spot for growing a variety of fruits and vegetables.  A number of farmers' markets all across the area make it easy to get that delicious produce from the farm to your table.

Here’s a look at all the markets and when they’re open for business:

•  Avoca

Wednesdays – 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Opening Day: June 21

•  Back Mountain

Saturdays – 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Dallas Elementary School
Opening Day: July 8

•  Freeland

Saturdays- 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.; Sundays- 10:00am-4:00pm
166 Foster Avenue (if using GPS, type in Foster Township instead of Freeland)
Open year-round

•  Hazleton

Fridays – 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Broad Street (Between Laurel and Wyoming Streets)
Opening Day: July 14

•  Mountain Top

Sundays – 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Crestwood High School
Opening Day: July 2

•  Pittston

Tuesdays – 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Lower Tomato Festival Lot
Opening Day: July 11

•  Wilkes-Barre

Mondays and Thursdays – 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Public Square
Opening Days: June 29 (Thursday market)
July 10 (Monday market)
